Meet Samantha
Samantha Spangler, PhD is the owner of the Behavioral Health Data Project (BHDP). At BHDP, Samantha helps organizations use qualitative and quantitative data to understand the effectiveness of the services they provide and identify ways to improve the quality, equity, and outcomes of services. Samantha enjoys working directly with our partners to understand their data needs and design approaches to meet those needs. Prior to founding BHDP, Samantha Spangler directed the Research and Evaluation Department at CIBHS and worked as a consultant with Focus Strategies and Cambria Solutions. When she’s not working, you can find Samantha cheering on her favorite sports teams, exploring Northern California wineries, and hanging out with her puppy Charlie.

Meet Adriana
Adriana Nunez, PhD, is the senior consultant for the Behavioral Health Data Project (BHDP), focusing on the application of evidence-based technology assessment tools to enhance decision-making. With a medical background and master's degrees in healthcare quality management and health economics, she has worked in both public and private sectors, focusing on data and process analysis to enhance clinical effectiveness, patient safety, and healthcare efficiency. Since 2016, she has been part of the Health Services Research and Policy unit at the University of California Merced, evaluating public health interventions for rural and underserved communities in California. Additionally, she worked as an epidemiologist for Mariposa County and the Yosemite Gateway Area Coordination team, contributing to the COVID response by establishing data-sharing mechanisms with neighboring counties to inform health policies and strategies. In her free time, Adriana enjoys exploring national parks with her family, practicing aquatic activities, and reading.

Meet Stephanie
Stephanie Cienfuegos Nunez is an analyst for Behavioral Health Data Project (BHDP). At BHDP, Stephanie engages in a diverse array of projects, from analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to designing graphics that facilitate data comprehension. She graduated from University of California, Merced with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and is passionate about improving mental health treatment. Stephanie has experience working with children in academic settings and is currently aspiring to pursue a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. In her free time, she enjoys creating art and spending time with her family and friends.
Meet Roya
Roya Hsi is the senior analyst for the Behavioral Health Data Project (BHDP). She specializes in data cleaning and preparation and uses her background in accounting and data management to support our team at BHDP. Roya holds degrees in history and accounting. Having grown up in both Taiwan and the United States, Roya is a bilingual speaker and brings cross-cultural perspective to her work. Outside of work, Roya enjoys unwinding with tabletop games, video games, and her dog, Boba.

Meet Charlie
Charlie is the furry friend in the Spangler household. She frequently likes to greet our partners and bring some smiles during project meetings. Charlie is an expert in cheese tasting, playing with her puppy friends, and snuggling her favorite humans.

Meet Canela “Nela”
Nela is the happy doodle of the Nunez family. Like Charlie, she is responsible for keeping her humans active and with enough cuddles during the day. Her expertise lies in identifying socks from a mile away and demonstrating, with almost statistical certainty, that chew toys are not actually resistant.

Meet Boba
Boba is the reigning queen of the household. She enjoys napping on elevated surfaces so that she can look down upon her kingdom. She is expert in cuddling, mediocre in fetch, and terrible at greeting people at the door.
